Situated at an elevation of 1814 mts. above sea - level on the northern slopes of Kandoliya hills, Pauri is headquarter of the district Pauri Garhwal Division.

Kandoliya
Kandoliya Travel

At a distance of 2 kms. from Puari, Kandoliya is a spectacular spot spot surrounded by dense forest. The tample of Kandoliya Devta, a picnic park is developed here and an Indoor Stadium is located. here. One can have a panoramic view of Himalayas peaks and Gangwarsyun Valley and can enjoy sun set. In summer most of people come here to see sun set. A walk along 4 kms. long road from Kandoliya to Buwakhal through Oak and Pine forests is realy refreshing.

Ransi

At a distance of 2.5 kms. from the town at an altitude of 2132 mts., Ransi is a beautiful picnic spot. Here is also a famous stadium where games and tournaments are frequently organised.

Very close to city bus stand, this is one of the important places of worship in Pauri.

Kyunkaleshwar Mahadev Temple

The beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and constructed in the 8th centuary A.D., is only 3 kms. away from the main town. From here one can have a clear view not only of the lofty Himalayan peaks, but also of Srinagar valley and other small places around Pauri.

 1.       Khirsu is a beautiful picnic spot.

 2.       Doodhatoli : Doodhatoli is situted at an altitude of 3100 mts. is is covered with dense mixed forest. Thailisain is the last bus terminus (100 km. from Pauri) from where Doodhatoli is at a distance of 24 kms. by trek. One of the most picturesque  places, it commands a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and the surrounding area.

 3.       Jwalpa -Dev Temple : It is well known religious places of the entire division and a large numbers of devotees come here round the year for Darshan.It is just 34 kms. from Pauri on Kotdwar road. Every Year during ' Navaratras ' , a special religious festival is held at Jwalpadevi.

 4.      Adwani : Adwani is an ideal picnic spot, just 17 km. It is surrounded by thick forest and devoid of the hustle & bustle of the town. There is a Forest Rest House where one can stay.
